- Position Summary:
- This position is responsible for performing respiratory care procedures in non-critical patient care areas under the supervision of a credentialed, licensed respiratory therapist. It requires the ability to interpret physician orders, assess patient needs, deliver prescribed therapy and evaluate patient response. Patient care in the critical care areas, emergency room or invasive procedures may be performed only under the direct supervision of a credentialed, licensed Respiratory Therapist. Student therapists may serve in a consulting role by communicating suggestions to other members of the clinical team regarding the respiratory care delivered to patients in non-critical patient care areas of the hospital. The position requires the ability to respond promptly to changes in workload and make adjustments in assignments as needed to achieve optimal productivity, efficacy and quality patient care.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education
- Student enrolled in an approved, accredited school of Respiratory Care
- Minimum Experience
- 1 year Respiratory Care school completed
- Required Registration/License/Certification
- Current Kansas special permit for Respiratory Care students
