Float Registered Nurse (RN) – Urology Ambulatory Surgery Center & Medical Clinic
Position Summary:
Salina Urology Associates is a growing fast paced physician owned Urology medical clinic and ambulatory surgery center. We are looking to add to our team with the addition of a Float RN. This RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care across both the Urology Ambulatory Surgery Center and the Urology Medical Clinic. This dynamic role requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to adapt to different patient care environments, supporting both pre-operative, intra-operative, post-operative, and outpatient clinical functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ambulatory Surgery Center Duties:
- Assist with pre-op assessments and patient preparation
- Circulate during urologic surgical procedures
- Monitor patients in the PACU and provide post-op care instructions
- Ensure compliance with ASC protocols, safety, and infection control standards
Medical Clinic Duties:
- Room patients and assist with urology-specific procedures (e.g., catheterizations, cystoscopies, bladder scans, Urodynamic studies)
- Administer medications and injections per provider orders
- Perform patient education regarding urologic conditions and post-visit instructions
- Address patient/physician correspondence via Electronic Medical Record (UroChart, MedEvolve and Surgical Information Systems), Phone, Texting Platform and Faxes
Float-Specific Responsibilities:
- Maintain readiness to float between ASC and clinic depending on staffing and patient care needs
- Flex between clinical roles, ensuring continuity of care across settings
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse license (RN) in Kansas
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (especially for ASC coverage)
- Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience preferred; prior urology or surgical experience is a plus
- Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
Working Conditions:
