What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist - District Wide PC#2798 position at Salinas Union High School District?
Under the direction of the Student Support Services Director, the Certified Occupational
Therapist provides direct and consultative occupational therapy services to designated students according to goals contained in an individualized education plan (IEP). The OT will provide assessment, consultation, and direct occupational therapy to students enrolled in or referred to special education programs. Additionally, the OT will collaborate with general and special education staff and parents to identify strategies, methods, and patterns of instructional support while also participating as a member of the educational team, develop assessment reports, identify student abilities, create and implement student IEP goals and individual occupational therapy intervention plans. The OT will also maintain appropriate documentation and reports, provide staff development training to educational personnel. In all roles listed above, the OT will supervise, guide, and mentor Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA’s) and other support staff while serving on administrative teams and committee’s as necessary.
