The Community Well-Being Coordinator is responsible for the execution of the local event and community outreach in alignment with prevention education and community well-being. This role works with the local community to maximize participation and engagement of individuals and organizations in well-being related
programming while representing Salinas Valley Health in a positive light.
This person will coordinate the delivery of collateral and promotional activities (on- line/off-line) to drive program participation through an engagement strategy developed by the Community & Health Promotion team. The priority focus area is to ensure sustainability of Blue Zones project Monterey County aligned impact.
- Develop a strong, collaborative relationship with Salinas Valley Health Department leaders, peers and other key individuals to foster service line promotion and engagement in the community.
- Work with the Community & Health Promotion team, community stakeholders, marketing department and other partners to create and implement a successful well-being engagement plan in alignment with Salinas Valley Health priorities.
- Drive participation of individuals and organizations including schools, businesses, civic groups and community members in education and prevention events/programming.
- Create community-based grassroots strategies and coordinate delivery of supporting materials, with a specific focus on health equity, diversity, and inclusion in alignment with the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) priorities.
- Organize and facilitate community events, including ongoing recruitment and engagement of community based volunteers.
- Develop annual project plan in support of Community Health Implementation Plan to create CHNA alignment.
- Develop and maintain content related to well-being initiatives for marketing presence on social media channels.
- Develop and provide promotional information and materials to Marketing Department for promotion and
- inclusion in Salinas Valley Health outreach channels.
- Adhere to Salinas Valley Health branding guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate and share best practices with Marketing Department and community outreach to ensure aligned
- messaging.
- Develop and meet monthly targets to measure community impact.
- Compile engagement related performance/value measures, outcomes and community impact stories on a quarterly basis.
- Set the standard for behavior and promote a positive working environment and attitude internally and externally.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: Position requires High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience/Knowledge: Three years of marketing and communications experience required. Healthcare experience preferred.
- Current marketing and communication principles, theories and practices.
- Laws, regulations and Salinas Valley Health guidelines pertaining to marketing and communication.
- Knowledge of industry standard communication tools for professional material development and
- Fiscal management skills to prepare, monitor and control budgets and reduce expenses.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and PowerPoint and have knowledge of Bananatag,
- Previous experience collaborating with community partners.
- Event development and implementation.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment while remaining detailed oriented and flexible.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to diverse groups and individuals.

Pay Range: The hourly rate for this position is $34.93 - $43.66. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
