Department: Information Technology Under the general direction of the general direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Cybersecurity Analyst safeguards the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Salinas Valley Health’s information systems. This role involves monitoring network traffic, identifying and responding to security threats, and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive patient data. Security monitoring of network traffic and system logs for signs of intrusion or unauthorized activity. Analyze security alerts and incident reports to determine the root cause and potential impact. Maintain security information and event management (SIEM) systems and services. Stay up-to-date on emerging threats and vulnerabilities. Tracks, responds to, and resolves, tickets and requests made of the Cybersecurity team. Completes required audits and processes as required by management and by the Cybersecurity Program policies & procedures. Participate in vulnerability assessments and remediation. Respond promptly to security incidents, following established incident response procedures. Maintain security technology such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls. Configure security settings on systems and applications to enhance security. Prepare documentation for regulatory audits and inspections. Maintains an inventory of information assets to identify, evaluate and manage risk. Provides reports on key performance indicators for systems security. Is a role model for departmental behavior, and provides and promotes a positive working environment for departmental staff to ensure strong employee morale, motivation and productivity. Ensure compliance with Policies, Procedures, and Standards by conducting regular audits and assessments as directed. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: Associate’s degree required, preferably in computer sciences or related field. A high school degree or GED with three (3) years’ relevant systems security experience accepted in lieu of an Associate’s degree. Licensure: Cybersecurity certification that meets DoD8570 at any IAM level required. New hires and transfers have 6 months from hire/transfer to obtain and keep current. Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in a similar job role for a mid to large organization required, preferably in healthcare with a healthcare provider. Demonstrated experience in managing systems security tools and solutions, analyzing and resolving systems security events and logs. Familiarity with the following practice areas: Security Incident Response Security standards and best practices Experience with data privacy and protection Experience with security compliance audits and assessments The hourly rate for this position is $42.45 - $53.07.
