What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHR/EPM Coordinator position at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System?
- Serves as the point of contact for implementing the organizations electronic medical record software system.
- Serves a key role in implementing the EMR system by mastering the technical and operational components of the system in order to educate and train all users.
- Assists in testing system upgrades and coordinating with EMR vendor.
- Assists in building and maintaining clinical templates and training manuals.
- Develops and coordinates an overall software applications training curriculum for end-users of all levels.
- Provides data analysis and report generation as requested.
- Assists with Support Desk as required.
- Participates in organizational committees and initiatives incorporating system solutions and development activities and assists other departments and affiliates with software applications including training requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required or two (2) years’ experience in a EMR or Clinical Support Associate role required.
Licensure: None.
Experience: Three (2) years’ experience within a healthcare related clinical environment and working knowledge of the process and delivery of patient care services in an ambulatory care facility and office practice environment required. Understanding of the supporting activities in clinical services, ancillary departments, financial services, medical records, utilization review, quality assurance, the admitting/registration functions, and billing and collections required.
