Job Specifications/Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Observes SMH dress code.
Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and effective manner.
Clear and courteous speaking manner.
- Operates multiple position telephone switchboards to relay incoming and out going calls
- Complete knowledge of the hospital beeper system.
- Knowledge of hospital departments, services, and visitation policies.
- Ability to use the hospital computer system to locate patients and enter department charges.
- Maintains accurate ambulance log and confirms correct charges.
- Respects confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Light filing duties within the department
- Knows to follow universal precautions for infection control.
