What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Sonographer - Heart Station - PRN position at Saline Memorial?
Job Specifications / Qualifications
Candidate must be a registered or registry eligible Cardiac Sonographer or Ultrasound Technician.
All staff is expected to sit for the RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) exam within 6 months of employment or test eligibility and keep registry current.
Be able to communicate with patients, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
Experience or ability to learn in intensive patient care, m-mode / 2-D / Doppler echocardiography, stress testing procedures, TEE, holter monitors, and extremity dopplers.
Ability to work varied shifts and hours.
Ability to assume on-call responsibilities.
Ability to educate other employees and students in the cardiac ultrasound field as needed.
Ability to become CPR and ACLS certified and keep certification current.
Ability to work independently within defined scope of care and job description.
Education
Must meet the requirements to be a registered or registry eligible Cardiac Sonographer or Ultrasound Technician.
