What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Sergeant position at Salineville Police Department?
This is supervisory position on, crime prevention, law enforcement, and criminal investigation work.
An employee in this class supervises Police Officers and support personnel or performs a specialized function in the preservation of public peace, the prevention of crime, detection and arrest of violators, protection of life and property, the enforcement of all criminal laws in the State of Ohio and the enforcement of ordinances in the Village of Salineville.
Works under general supervision of the Chief of Police and in accordance with regulations, established procedures and standards, and training; however, conditions of emergency, public danger, personal danger, civil disorder, and sensitive public opinion require instant decisions, tact, courtesy, and mature judgment, and employee is held responsible for conduct on and off duty. Personal actions must be in compliance with municipal, state, and federal statutes.
