DESCRIPTION:
Salisbury Christian School is seeking a reliable, flexible, and team-oriented Wastewater/Water Technician to join our Facilities Team. Applicants should have related tradework experience and Wastewater 3A Operator-in-Training (OIT) License and Water 3 Operator-in-Training (OIT) License or eligibility/willingmness to pursue such licensure. JOB PURPOSE:
The Wastewater/Water Technician supports the safe, efficient, and compliant functioning of the school’s wastewater plant. This is a full-time, hourly position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Perform testing, operations, and necessary routine cleanings pertaining to school wastewater and water treatment;
- Create and execute all preventative maintenance on school wastewater plant and water plant;
- Obtain necessary licenses from the Maryland Department of Environment and complete necessary continuing education requirements to maintain licensure;
- Demonstrate scheduling flexibility and a willingness to respond to water and wastewater related alerts on evenings and weekends, when necessary;
- Assist with general school maintenance and facilities tasks as schedule allows;
- Understand, articulate, and promote the vision, mission, and values of Salisbury Christian School;
- Establish and promote high Christian standards and expectations for all students and staff to encourage excellent academic performance and Godly character;
- Model the highest Christ-like behavior consistent with a professional school environment in all interactions with all school stakeholders;
- Model Christ-likeness by living clearly within the bounds of Biblical authority;
- Demonstrate servant leadership in dealing with staff, students, and parents;
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the administration.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Attend staff meetings and training programs as deemed necessary by the school;
- Supervise extracurricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned;
- Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth;
- Provide input and constructive recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school;
- Support the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible;
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Administration.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma;
- Wastewater 3A Operator-in-Training (OIT) License and Water 3 Operator-in-Training (OIT) License or eligibility for such licensure.
