What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Interventionist Tutor position at Salisbury Elementary?
Salisbury Elementary School seeks an experienced Academic Interventionist Tutor. The successful candidate will provide reading, writing and/or mathematics instruction to an identified at-risk population, under Title I. The tutor will work under the supervision of a licensed educator to provide intervention lessons in small groups that meet the specific needs of students based on screening and diagnostic data.
Hours & Days/Week: Flexible - up to 5 hours, 5 days a week
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Deliver intervention services to at-risk children in literacy and/or math in order to support academic growth.
2. Assist in administering appropriate benchmark screening, progress monitoring of students.
3. Collect observations of student performance and progress within the intervention.
4. Provide direct Tier II services within or beyond the classroom and/or in small group settings.
5. Perform other tasks as assigned by the school or district administration.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Must possess the ability to:
1. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel and students. Communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form.
2. Use appropriate tiered intervention programs in reading and writing to instruct at risk students.
3. Ensure those strategies used support Triton’s curriculum goals.
4. Maintain student confidentiality at work and after hours at all times
