Job Summary
The Campus Safety Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and visitors on campus. This position involves monitoring activities, enforcing safety protocols, and responding to incidents to ensure the well-being of the campus community. The ideal candidate will possess strong conflict management skills and have a background in law enforcement or security.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor campus grounds through regular patrols and surveillance systems, including CCTV.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, and alarms, providing first aid and CPR as necessary.
  • Enforce campus policies and regulations while promoting a culture of safety among students and staff.
  • Conduct loss prevention measures to deter theft and vandalism on campus property.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary to address security concerns.
  • Document incidents accurately and maintain detailed reports for review by management.
  • Provide assistance during campus events to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Engage with the campus community to foster positive relationships and encourage reporting of suspicious activities.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in law enforcement or security is preferred.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in conflict management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with surveillance systems and loss prevention techniques is desirable.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to assess situations quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with diverse populations.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle conflicts professionally.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
