What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School - Girls Wrestling Coach position at Sallisaw High School?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students using the local and state curriculum guide.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the maturity levels and interests of students.
- Guides a classroom learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and -in harmony with those goals- establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
- Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting objectives.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Refers students suspected of having a learning disability to appropriate personnel in the district for the purpose to identifying individual student needs.
- Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing students and develops reasonable classroom procedures to maintain order in a fair and just manner.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teachers assistants and volunteers to achieve the best educational results and supervises their job performance.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as requested.
- Enforces all rules governing the conduct of students as prescribed by the principal, superintendent, and Board Policy.
- Strives to maintain hygienic conditions and practices in the classroom.
- Reports to the principal any serious accident or illness - affecting students in his or her charge.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the academic day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Assist the school district to provide a safe, nurturing environment for students.
- Assist the district to comply with HR1 (NCLB) requirements as specified by local, state, and federal mandates.
- Performs such other duties as are assigned by the principal.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to running all aspects of a comprehensive 7-12 PROGRAM, including practice and event day management. Duties also include; coaching, staffing, media, public relations, fiscal management of the program budget, and other responsibilities assigned by the SPS Athletic Director.
