Reports To :  Charge Nurse / Nursing Supervisor

Job Summary :

Salmon Creek Post Acute and Rehab is seeking a compassionate and skilled  Certified Medication Aide (CMA)  to join our team. The CMA will be responsible for administering medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse and supporting the nursing staff with essential patient care tasks. This role is vital in providing our residents with a safe, dignified, and high-quality standard of care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Medication Administration :

Accurately administer prescribed medications, including oral, topical, and subcutaneous, according to facility protocols and under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

  • Document medication administration and any observed effects in accordance with state regulations and facility policy.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines related to medication administration.

Resident Observation and Communication :

Monitor residents for any adverse reactions, side effects, or changes in condition, and promptly report concerns to the licensed nurse on duty.

  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, residents, and family members regarding resident care and medication status.
  • Patient Care Support :

    Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, as needed.

  • Provide a compassionate and patient-centered approach in all interactions with residents.
  • Record-Keeping and Documentation :

    Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of administered medications, patient responses, and any relevant observations.

  • Follow established policies for medication cart cleanliness and security.
  • Team Collaboration :

    Work cooperatively with nursing staff, rehabilitation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to enhance resident outcomes.

  • Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to ensure ongoing professional development.
  • Qualifications :

  • Certification :  Current  Certified Medication Aide (CMA)  certification in [State], meeting state regulatory requirements.
  • Experience :  Prior experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings is preferred.
  • Skills :  Strong organizational, communication, and observation skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Attributes :  Compassionate, dependable, patient-focused, and adaptable with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, and move throughout the workday to provide hands-on resident care.
