WORK HOURS: This is a Full-Time position, and you will be required to work a varying schedule Monday through Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to 3 pm. Infrequently, store meetings will need to be attended either prior to work times or after 6 pm.
JOB SUMMARY: We will train. Experience is a plus but not necessary. Assists pharmacist by expediting the process of prescription dispensation in perimeters allowed by the law. Answer the telephone to obtain and request information from customer or from physician’s offices. Perform housekeeping tasks as directed within company guidelines. Review pharmacy department policies with the Operations Manager. Performs direct customer service and cash handling tasks. Refers patient to pharmacist to answer questions regarding medications, side effects and, etc. Contacts insurance companies regarding coverage for patients. You may be required to perform other tasks including but not limited to COVID testing, managing immunizations clinics, prescription deliveries directly to patients or to post office and/or running errands as required by management. You will also be required to learn multiple computer applications that are used daily to manage workflow and as required by law.
QUALIFICATIONS: If not already licensed in Idaho you are required get licensed by the State Pharmacy Board which required fingerprints and federal background check. High school diploma or GED equivalent, Ability to pass drug test, Ability to handle fast paced workflow – Ability to pay attention to detail, Ability to organize/prioritize daily workflow, tasks and projects – willingness to continue education and learn new computer applications Must be able to communicate pleasantly and efficiently with all customers, vendors, and fellow employees under all circumstances. Multitasking and good communication skills are also a necessary skill to excel in this position.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS include but are not limited to At all times provide pleasant and efficient customer service. Must complete assigned duties on a daily basis Maintain at all times the cleanliness and/or sanitation of the work area. Management considers the ability of the employee to perform maintenance tasks required to run the business daily ( i.e. cleaning the bathroom and floors, maintaining shelf stickers/dusting, and being self-motivated to see and complete these tasks) to be equally important to the functions of filling prescriptions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to: Perform any combination of the following duties to assist pharmacist and retail establishment; mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and type labels for bottles. Assist pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication. Receive, store, and maintain inventory of incoming supplies. Count stock and enters data into the computer to maintain inventory records of both OTC and drug supply. Processes records of medication and equipment, dispense, complete charges, and enter data into the computer-Perform COVID testing-Manage immunization clinics including the data entry and organization of follow-up immunizations-Learn and use multiple web sites required for scheduling, reporting, ordering, policy, and procedures etc. – Clean and organize all areas of front end, back room, and pharmacy – answer phone – inventory management
Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to lift, carry and push up to 50 pounds. MACHINE, TOOLS, SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT USED include but not limited to: Phone, computer (MUST have Computer/typing skills), medication bottles, vials, totes, refrigerator, cash register, one-step step stool, plastic bags containing filled prescriptions, privacy phone headset, COVID testing supplies, PPE including face mask, bubble packing, any other duties determined.
