Job Summary
The Hospice Aide plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care to patients in their homes or assisted living facilities. This position involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring comfort during their end-of-life journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with terminal illnesses, while also respecting their dignity and privacy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Medication Reminders as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties including laundering linens and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Help with mobility by lifting or transferring patients safely as needed.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuing education to enhance skills related to home community care.

Skills

  • Idaho Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) Required
  • Experience working with geriatric individuals and individuals with Dementia preferred.
  • Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding medication management protocols.
  • Knowledge of home care practices and assisted living environments.
  • Ability to lift and transfer patients safely using proper techniques.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Skills in laundering and maintaining cleanliness of patient environments.
  • Certification in CPR is required to ensure patient safety during emergencies, but can be obtained after hire.

This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing high-quality care while fostering a supportive environment for patients and their families during challenging times.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
