Job Summary
The Hospice Aide plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care to patients in their homes or assisted living facilities. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Reminders as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties including laundering linens and maintaining a clean environment.
- Help with mobility by lifting or transferring patients safely as needed.
- Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in training sessions and continuing education to enhance skills related to home community care.
Skills
- Idaho Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) Required
- Experience working with geriatric individuals and individuals with Dementia preferred.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding medication management protocols.
- Knowledge of home care practices and assisted living environments.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients safely using proper techniques.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Skills in laundering and maintaining cleanliness of patient environments.
- Certification in CPR is required to ensure patient safety during emergencies, but can be obtained after hire.
