What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Art Greeter / Art Handler - Sonoma position at Salon D' Art?

Due to growth, we have openings for a PT Art Greeter / Art Handler to host world-class Fine Art exhibitions held at the luxurious Fairmont Mission Inn located in Sonoma.
You will guide guests through the exhibit as you educate and encourage them to make silent bids towards the purchase of the art work. This is high end sales in the Art World.
We are looking for a team member who can work every Saturday plus 2 Fridays per month from 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm plus up to an additional 5 hours during the week (times are flexible).
Your job includes: curating the shows by selecting 8 - 10 art pieces of framed art from our extensive world-class inventory at our nearby storage facility, transporting and setting up the exhibit, sales, and at the end of the event breaking down and taking the pieces back to the storage facility.
Special projects may arise where we need your support in transporting art to/from our local packing vendor, occasional pickups/deliveries and installations in the area.
- Work well as a team
- Have reliable personal vehicle large enough to transport multiple pieces of framed art to / from the exhibit venues (requires SUV/Van/Hatchback vehicle)
- Able to lift 25 pounds and set up / break down exhibit, load and unload inventory, easels, lights, art cards, etc.
- Oversee and maintain installation materials and supplies
- Upkeep of storage unit
- Hosting exhibits, assisting in Silent Auction, greeting guests, selling art pieces
- Availability: regularly scheduled shows on Fridays and/or Saturdays, potential on call deliveries during the week to our main storage facility in Hercules, and some Holidays.
- Compensation: $20.00/hour commission on high end art sales!
- Must live within 40 minutes of Sonoma
