Hair Color Specialist (Stylist)

Job Description:

Salon On 30th is an education-based environment that thrives off of teamwork and personal growth. Stylists at Salon On 30th are required to work well with others and have exceptional customer service. A clientele is not required; our front desk team are experts at booking and ensuring your books stay full. To maintain a clientele at Salon On 30th, as a stylist, you will need to be open and able to attend education courses that grow/maintain your skill-set and adopt our guidelines of culture and client care.

Stylists at Salon On 30th are paid hourly; we do not offer booth renting. This is in part to ensure that our team is well compensated and has an environment that is team-driven. Salon On 30th has a team of assistants who work with stylists to ensure as much support as possible while you are working behind the chair. Your hourly rate as a stylist is dependent on your business and how much you are able to charge based on your qualifications, skill-set, timing of services, and your treatments/product sales. New stylists entering our environment must bring in models to evaluate their stylist level and needed education.

Salon On 30th's education program is all based in-house; we are very fortunate to have a team of dedicated educators that make our program as comprehensive as it is. Our education program is Sassoon-based along with Davines color. Education at Salon On 30th covers the following: haircutting basics, advanced haircutting, color basics, advanced color, product knowledge, blow-dry training, business development for stylists, consultation training, formal styling, extensions, perming, keratin services, and advanced stylist development. Salon On 30th's education program is for all employees, from assistants to our most experienced senior stylist.

Salon On 30th is currently looking for a hair color specialist; we are open to stylists who wish to do both cut and color. However, our greatest need at this time is for someone who wants to grow in color services. All candidates who apply must be open to an evaluation where you will bring in models to be assessed for timing, skill-set, and pricing. Education is a must at Salon On 30th; please keep that in mind when applying.

Qualifications:

• Must have some salon experience (1 years)
• Must have a valid California Cosmetologist license
• Candidates must have a greater preference for coloring; some want/need for haircutting is okay
• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends
• Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
• Candidates must have the ability to learn new products, techniques, and systems quickly and adapt accordingly to our ever-changing needs
• Candidates must be well organized, self-motivated, and possess strong communication skills in order to effectively interact with clients, co-workers, and vendors.
• Candidates must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $60.00 per hour
