Position Title : Assistant Principal for Student Services
FLSA Status : Exempt
Full-time / Part-time : Full-time, 12 months

Reports to : The Principal
The Assistant Principal for Student Services reports directly to the Principal. This leadership role coordinates and directs various departments impacting student life, including campus ministry, counseling, student activities, discipline, and registration. The Assistant Principal oversees the Student Services Department to foster a supportive and enriching environment for all students. The Assistant Principal for Student Services is committed to Salpointe Catholic’s mission and values, advocating for student development, wellness, and success.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership and Oversight :
Supervise Campus Ministry, Counseling, Deans, Registrar, Health Office and Student Activities Departments.
Support Deans in maintaining discipline and promoting a positive school climate.
Oversee the Counseling Department, ensuring effective academic and personal guidance, including career and college counseling.
Manage the filing of mandatory reports to the Diocese of Tucson.
Manage the Student Services budget.
Program Management :
Lead the Salpointe Service Program, assuming responsibility for all components of the program.
Administer the drug testing program in coordination with the Health Office, ensuring compliance with school policies.
Coordinate professional photography including school photos, yearbook, IDs, etc.
Oversee planning for Honors Assemblies and Parent forums.
Update and publish the Parent-Student Handbook.
Oversee all out-of-town trips, including but not limited to European travels and mission trips (except for athletics).
Campus Ministry :
Collaborate with the Director of Campus Ministry to ensure programs align with Carmelite values of prayer, community, and service.
Facilitate student leadership training in conjunction with Campus Ministry.
Oversee all Campus Ministry activities including Kairos and Days of Recollection.
Student Activities :
Oversee all club activities in coordination with the Director of Student Activities.
Foster community engagement through various student programs and supervise lunch activities.
Implement and manage the character program, reinforcing the school’s values.
Review and approve proposals for Student Council activities, including assemblies, clubs, dances, and social events.
Ensure effective coordination of the student leadership program across all departments.
Collaborate with the Director of Wellness to ensure effective activity periods, etc.
Collaborate with Student Services team to ensure effective community periods
Ensure effective coordination of the student leadership program across all departments
Administrative Responsibilities :
Collaborate with the attendance office and registrar to maintain accurate record-keeping.
Oversee front office staff.
Participate in school leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications :
Deep commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
Master’s degree in Education Administration or Counseling Degree.
Valid administrative certification or licensure.
Previous experience in educational leadership, preferably at the high school level.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional public speaking skills.
