Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Payroll, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing biweekly payroll and maintaining up to date employee time records and files.
Responsibilities
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholdings, address changes, and other information.
- Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices to deductions.
- Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
- Address any payroll inquiries while collaborating closely with HR and finance teams.
- Reconcile federal and state payroll tax deposits.
- Create and process reports for payroll audits and analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 years experience processing multi-state payroll
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Demonstrated ability to research data and extract meaningful information to ensure the accuracy of payroll information
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel or related software
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Previous experience in dental or healthcare
