What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Testing Services position at Salt Lake Community College?
Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Coordinator will assist in the management of all aspects of the Testing Center at the Jordan campus, during evening hours. This includes supervising and training of proctors; reviewing, approving, and managing exam requests from instructors; managing and maintaining computer hardware, software and facility resources; coordinating with college departments and testing centers located on other campuses; communicating with and providing assistance to staff, instructors and students related to testing policies and processes.
Primary shift Monday through Thursday 11:30 am to 8:00 pm; Friday 9:00 am to 5:00pm. Must be available to work a flexible schedule during peak times and break hours.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties

- Serve as a high level of support and leadership to Testing Center, Testing Center staff, students, community, and faculty.
- Work closely and collaborate with Assistant Director to resolve staff issues, behaviors, and solutions.
- Provide ongoing training to Testing Center staff and disseminate information accordingly and accurately for consistency.
- Ensure Proctors are up-to-date and in compliance with exam administration procedures and requirements.
- Ensure all day-to-day tasks and closing procedures are completed by staff.
- Contribute to an environment that encourages SLCC’s values, mission; respect for and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
- Serve as the hiring Supervisor for afternoon proctors.
- Provide direct supervision for afternoon part-time employees.
- Provide real-time feedback on personnel issues relating to exam security, wrong exam given, and related items.
- Report issues to Supervisor as needed.
- Foster a cooperative work environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve staff, faculty, and student access issues.
- Correspond with instructors regarding questions about aspects of exam(s), exam administration, and exam access/updates.
- Initiate reports from RegisterBlast on various aspects of business.
- Update and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure sufficient exams are available in check-in area for exam administration.
- Setup and initiate various exams, including exam seating charts, exam schedules and appointment schedules in RegisterBlast.
- Oversee the administration of exams given through the Testing Center and contribute assistance in administering exams daily.
- Inventory daily exams and ensure exam security.
- Serve as a Testing Services liaison for faculty, and Accessibility and Disability Services in providing and obtaining examination materials or guidelines for students testing at Testing Services.
- Serve as a contact person for inquiries regarding all aspects surrounding academic testing, set up, and scheduling.
- Uphold exam integrity by investigating and ending exams for students suspected of academic dishonesty. Report incidents to proper authorities.
- Facilitate student, faculty and staff problem resolution.
- Mentor faculty, staff, and or students in the effective use of exam software/ exam technologies as needed.
- Proactively analyze specific course or exam software/tools needed on exams to support the department’s effectiveness and efficiency of exam administration capabilities.
- Be familiar with college network team in troubleshooting issues, including user profiles, and updates.
- Oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot exam technology functions of Testing Services and reach out to proper personnel as needed.
- Work in Canvas to assist in troubleshooting and resolving minor discrepancies.
- Set-up private rooms/overflow for exam administration.
- Reconcile completed exams daily/weekly, especially during high volume testing.
- Exam transport to and from campuses.
- Scan completed exams directly to instructor folder or instructor SLCC email.
- Maintain and clean exam stations/rooms accordingly.
- Generate exam reports for next day exam schedules.
- Print and prepare coversheets and paper-based exams.
- Ensure devices are prepared and set up with exam files/assistive technologies.
- Ensure USBs have been prepared for exam administration, files have been uploaded/downloaded, saved/stored securely and accordingly.
- Contact faculty, students, departments, exam vendors regarding exam issues out of Testing Services control.
- Assist Assistant Director in the gathering and analyze statistical data to generate relevant reports to direct continuous improvement of testing services and resources.
- Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Zero (0) to three (3) years of direct related, paid, full-time experience.
Trade off 2:1 in experience/education requirement.
Part time experience may be considered on prorated basis.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to plan, direct, implement, and evaluate support service operations specifically related to testing operations.
- Ability to coordinate with faculty and staff to support student testing needs.
- Demonstrate experience in the delivery and support of academic assessment technologies.
- Ability to schedule, direct and supervise testing proctor specialists.
- Ability to use a variety of learning and testing technologies including learning management systems such as Canvas and testing platforms provided by ATI, and other testing vendors.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrating sound judgement and the ability to resolve routine matters.
- Ability to train new personnel.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be detail oriented.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Reliable and arrive promptly for scheduled work shifts.
- High ethical values and be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of academic advising, ADA policies, and other college student support services.
- Advanced computer literacy including Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel).
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
