What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Associate, Library Academic Services position at Salt Lake Community College?
Database evaluation and marketing specialist to evaluate the user experience of library databases and create engaging marketing descriptions that effectively guide students and faculty in selecting the right resources for their research needs. This position is temporary and will end on 6/30/2025.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct comprehensive user experience evaluations of library databases to identify database use cases. Craft engaging and informative marketing descriptions for library databases. Tailor content to appeal to both students and faculty. Highlight unique features and benefits of each database. Ensure that database titles and descriptions accurately reflect their purpose. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that database descriptions meet SLCC teaching needs.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
MLS, Instructional Design, User Experience, or Marketing degree.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of academic library databases, library searching, and information literacy. Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail, background in user experience evaluation and data analysis.
Knowledge of content marketing principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, abilities, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
