What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator position at Salter Construction, Inc.?
The Estimator reports to the Senior Estimator.
Description/ Responsibilities:
- Act as initial contact with new job opportunity - duties include site visits, client and design professional communication, RFI's, RFP's etc.
- Create detailed estimates for job acquisition - including Sub/supplier pricing, historical data and in-house take off information
- Collaborate with Project Coordinator to initiate job start up
- Work with Project Manager and VPPC to align the budget with expectations
- On assigned projects, lead throughout SCI Bid Process
- On assigned projects, collaborate with Project Team and lead the hand off during the Buyout phase
- Immediately collaborate with Subs, suppliers and Project Team when scope changes during Estimating and Buyout phase
- Prior to handoff, be the lead on reporting to Project Team during buyout and staff meetings
- Procure new Subs and Suppliers based on project scopes
- Maintain and expand Sub/Supplier database
- Participate in following SCI Meetings - Monday Buyout / Wednesday Staff / Project Manager / Monthly Job Reviews / Superintendent
- Adhere to all SCI Company Processes/Policies AND remain positive with your team and customer to complete the project
