Expanding Clinic Opportunity! We need 2 NP's to start after the New Year! Perfect opportunity for someone looking for a relaxed, flexible schedule.
We are a small clinic that is known in the county for helping our Veterans. This is not your "average day in the clinic". We are operating out of a small site in New Smyrna Beach and looking for a Nurse Practitioner to assist with Compensation & Pension exams for veterans. You will be diagnosing or confirming a diagnosis but not be treating or prescribing. You will, if necessary order imaging. This is not a walk in clinic you will only be seeing assigned veterans to you. ( If you are autonomous and have family practice patients, you can see them here as well. This can be discussed)
1-2 years experience GEN MED Required, Contingent on credentialing, back ground check, and interview. Preferable full autonomy. 60 Day review period. Knowledge of military is not required but helpful. Training will be provided and assistance to help you be successful in submitting exams. You will need to become familiar with the different ACTS for VA compensation. Opportunities to complete reserve health readiness exams in the future.
~Flexible scheduling ; Clinic Hours 8am-4pm. Evening hours for this role is available. We are requesting 3-5 days a week. (Sat/Sun are available if you prefer). You will see 3-5 veterans a day that are pre scheduled depending on how long your availability is. Each exam requires a different amount of time from 15 min to possibly 1-2 hours.
~Daily rate percentage of veterans seen or flat daily rate can be discussed, reimbursed no show fee in the event a veteran cannot make his/her appointment time. This is a_ 1099 position. Documentation must be submitted within 24 hours. Must _have mal practice Insurance. There is no prescribing. When you are done with work , you are done.

Daily Range of Responsibilities of the Primary Care Nurse Practitioner:
- Conduct assessments that help the VA answer questions about the Veterans’ current health.
- Prior to every exam, the practitioner reviews each Veteran’s medical or mental health history, using electronic bookmarks that highlight the portions applicable to the Veteran’s claim(s) condition.
- This material, paired with the Veteran’s responses collected during the exam, guides the practitioner through our web-based examination form.
- Electronic exam documentation needs to be submitted within 24-48 hours of each appointment.
- Common exams include: musculoskeletal, cardio and respiratory.
- Ancillaries (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be ordered by you and will be conducted nearby.
- The practitioner will not make a determination of percent of disability or rating, develop any treatment plans or prescribe medication. The assessment is only to be completed. Medical Opinions to be submitted if ordered by the VA
