Director of Business Development

SMA is an award-winning firm looking for an energetic and motivated Business Development Manager experienced in the AEC Industry to join our team.

• IN-HOUSE / HYBRID POSITION - Fort Lauderdale Office

Hybrid Office : 3 days at the office / 2 days at home after the 90-day Intro period.

The applicant must be :

• a self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting with knowledge and interest in environmental and sustainable design
• strong technical and graphic ability
• The candidate must be attuned to the company's missions and values

Job Functions :

• The Director of Business Development will be a integral part of our Leadership Team.
• Provides business development leadership, strategic planning and direction for all market sectors.
• Understands marketing and sales business negotiations and recognizes and acts upon opportunities to promote the Company’s expertise and successful past performance.
• Provides business intelligence on clients, alliances, and competitors to support project pursuits and maintain an active CRM database.
• Monitors media sources for pertinent information about specific pursuits, industry trends, publications, news, and award participation opportunities.
• Responsible for procuring and managing Digital Marketing Managers.
• Participate directly with the Marketing Manager, assisting on RFPs, RFQs, presentations, award submittals, and other marketing collateral.
• Create or manage graphic design to plan, create, and produce marketing materials.
• Ensure all deadlines are met proactively with a high level of quality.
• Identify and coordinate attendance of trade shows and other social events.
• Set up and attend meetings / events with strategic leads.
• Research industry publications for industry news as well as advertising opportunities.
• Compile and maintain a database of documents for RFPs and RFQs, including the firm’s qualifications, history, project information, resumes, and other marketing information.
• Support Principals and Management with business development, marketing and CRM
• Minimum level of education : Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience, Architecture Degree a plus
• Years of relevant work experience : minimum of 5 years of experience in a marketing role, experience in architecture or engineering industries a plus
