DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Community Health Services designated supervisor, the Administrative Promotora conducts outreach to inform the community of Salud services and provides health information. This position is key to empowering community members to engage in their physical health and promotes community wellbeing. The Administrative Promotora supports screening and comprehension efforts surrounding social drivers of health programs through various forms of outreach and communication including community events. This position will focus on linking the community to Salud services and other resources as well as enhancing health awareness for individuals and families.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Through participation in community events, conducts outreach and informs the community of services offered by the agency and community partners.
2. Provides peer health education and support to families within designated areas.
3. Participates as a member of various teams as needed to support with outreach events, grant deliverables, and community events.
4. Supports the Community Health Services Department with registration of patients, runs insurance eligibility, and ensures that appointments accommodate billing workflows.
5. Enters, reviews, and makes necessary changes to all Community Health Services scheduled patient registration information in accordance with established procedures.
6. Collects and maintains accurate statistics of outreach efforts/contacts and submits information to Supervisor. Inputs data into tracking logs in a timely manner.
7. Ensures that all matters related to patient account information are handled confidentially, effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with regulations and contracts.
8. Performs a variety of administrative duties to support clinic operations and outreach activities.
9. Using proper phone etiquette, answers incoming calls courteously and professionally, taking messages and directing them appropriately. Screens calls requesting appointments with Community Health Services.
10. Consistently adheres to and/or exceeds SALUD’s communication guidelines and expectations with patients, peers, and supervisors.
11. Adheres to the SPLG Mission, Vision, and Values, Standards of Conduct and HIPAA principles.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of culturally effective and sensitive community engagement strategies.
- Knowledge of community needs, particularly underserved and vulnerable communities.
- Knowledge of COVID-19 safety measures.
- Knowledge of available community resources.
- Proof of having received, or willing to receive, the COVID-19 vaccine prior to start date.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma, or equivalent.
- Must be bilingual in Spanish/English; bicultural preferred.
- Two (2) years of work experience with social service systems/programs, preferably with high risk, needy, or underserved populations in health education and social service.
- Experience working in an Electronic Chart System.
- Knowledge of health and social services systems and programs in the community.
- Requires own transportation, valid CA driver's license, and automobile insurance.
- Must be able to work independently and be able to set priorities, meet timelines, and established outcomes.
- Communicate effectively by using welcoming words, proper tone of voice, appropriate body language, eye contact and smiling in patient interactions. Listen skillfully and display a willingness and ability to acknowledge patient needs, expectations, and values by reflective listening and empathy conveyance.
- Must be flexible in work hours, with willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends or other non 8 to 5 work schedules.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing, walking, sitting, typing, reaching, bending, moving and/or lifting up to 25 pounds.
Salary : $24 - $30
