DESCRIPTION: The Director is responsible for the effective delivery of efficient, patient-centered and high quality clinical practice. The position includes program and education development and delivery. The position includes the hiring, training and supervision of designated staff. The position is responsible for compliance and risk management in the areas of staff protocols, scope of clinical staff job duties, ensuring that Salud meets all state and federal requirements. This position has responsibility for compliance and risk management in the areas of nursing protocols, medical assistant job duties and in-house lab testing, ensuring that Salud meets federal, state and other requirements for clinic licensing, Medi-Cal managed care etc. The Director is a member of the leadership team and participates in Medical Director, Quality Improvement, and Department Head meetings as designated. The Director has effective leadership skills to implement needed workflows and manage change.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the hiring, training, supervision and performance evaluation for all designated staff which may include registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, Supervisors, Medical Assistants, Health Coaches and other staff as required.
- With Chief Medical Officer and Chief of Operating Officer.
- Develops clinical staff roles according to organization needs
- Collaborates, develops and implements care management programs including care teams, health coaches, etc.
- Collaborates and implements current infection control guidelines and practices according to federal, state and local guidelines.
- Collaborates, develops, implements and evaluates clinical education as needed for non provider clinical staff
- Collaborates to ensure clinical policies and procedures are developed and adhered to.
- Collaborates and oversees diabetes patient education provided by staff
- Ensures programs and services achieve a high level of patient satisfaction with an emphasis on high-quality care and an excellent patient experience.
- In collaboration with Human Resources, assists in overseeing employee health onboarding requirements and processes.
- Oversees vaccine programs and initiatives
- Assures quality of clinical services provided by clinical staff such as nurses, medical assistants and other staff including immunizations, lab tests, patient assessments, etc.
- Develops, implements, and monitors adherence to standing orders and clinical protocols governing the work of nurses and medical assistants and other clinical support staff.
- Participates in Quality Improvement meetings, conducts PDSAs to improve the quality of services.
- Participates in staff meetings.
- Maintains confidentiality and monitors confidentiality policy adherence for CMAs and other support staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or comparative degree with current California RN license and good standing with the Board of Registered Nurses.
- 2 years previous experience in a clinical management position, ambulatory clinic setting and/or Federally Qualified Health Center preferred.
- Knowledge of clinic licensing, Medi-Cal and other state and federal regulations.
- Minimum of two years of experience in acute care nursing strongly preferred.
- Valid CA Driver’s License and current vehicle insurance; must be able to travel between sites.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing, walking, sitting, typing, reaching, moving and/or lifting up to 50 pounds.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Salary: $128,449.32- $163,720.00/yr
Benefits: available to all regular Salud employees working 24 hours per week. Part-time employees may receive some benefits on a pro-rated basis.

Additional Information:
Employees on temporary assignments are eligible for holiday pay and California sick pay, both pro-rated based on hours worked.
On-call employees are eligible for California sick pay, pro-rated based on hours worked.
