What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Shift On-Call Staffing Coordinator (RN/LPN) position at Saluda Nursing & Rehab Center?
Schedule:
One 12-hour Night Shift per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); plus 3 nights per week on-call.
Job Overview:
This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys coordinating nursing resources and making impactful decisions in a clinical environment. The successful candidate will work one night per week and serve as the point of contact for after-hours staffing needs across the facility two or three additional nights per week.
Nurse Qualifications:
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing or practical nursing program and maintain current license with the SC State Board of Nursing. Candidate must be in good physical and mental condition, demonstrate effective leadership abilities, and able to work with all levels of personnel.
Nurse Duties:
- Coordinate staffing for all nursing departments.
- Respond to staffing needs, call-ins, and absences in real time.
- Communicate with nursing supervisors and unit managers regarding staffing levels.
- Ensure compliance with staffing policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate staffing records and reports.
- Assist with clinical tasks.
- Carry out resident care plans.
- Administer medications as ordered.
- Administer IV fluids and draw blood for lab work, as ordered.
- Make rounds with doctors as needed.
- Order medicines as needed.
- Make daily assignments for CNAs as needed.
- Perform treatments as necessary.
- Aid in any other procedures and duties as assigned as capable after evidence of proper orientation and training.
- Familiarity with scheduling, electronic charting, and basic computer skills.
- Must be able to serve in the capacity of Charge Nurse.
- Must be able to perform routine staff nurse duties.
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
