Position/Title: Aviation Security Operations Manager

Reports to: Chief Security Officer

Location: Remote in El Paso, TX

Salary: $135,000-$150,000 USD Annually

A. General

This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position, that will report to the Chief Security Officer of Salus Worldwide Solutions. We are in search of an ambitious and proactive Aviation Security professional that will oversee our Aviation Security operations at the local international Airport and on each assigned flight. We are looking for a seasoned professional who brings a blend of strong leadership experience and aviation industry expertise. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and familiarity with various screening and explosive threat technologies deployed across US airports. The primary responsibility will be oversight of the assigned team of Aviation Security Officers. Under the direction and leadership of the Chief Security Officer, the Aviation Security Operations Manager has the overall responsibility of ensuring that all flight security operations are performed in a consistent manner with the agreed procedures and protocol in accordance with company, TSA, airport, and local/international client standards.

B. Duties and Responsibilities:

· The Aviation Security Manager directs, plans, organizes, and coordinates, with collaboration from the Chief Security Officer, the day-to-day operations of the Aviation Security Officer force.

· Lead multiple teams and tasks to provide training, oversight, and support for all assigned flights.

· Responsibilities include managing risk-based security standards and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, airport and federal regulations, and standardized processes

· Perform ongoing assessments of operating risks and the development of appropriate mitigation strategies to sustain business operations, existing and future

· Effectively represent the company and successfully interoperate with Airport Authority stakeholders and law enforcement, as appropriate

· The AvSec Manager responsibilities include managing ambiguity through knowledge to facilitate team priorities in order to meet short-term process targets and team goals

· Drive creation of security and quality initiatives that continuously improve processes and mitigate deficiencies

· Serve as Salus’s representative for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inspections and inquiries; investigate allegations of regulatory violations and mitigate regulatory enforcement

· Effectively monitor and guide subordinate personnel and aircrew members.

· Ensure compliance with and enforcement of HR and company policies and procedures with regard to payroll, performance, attendance, training and station recruitment.

· Conduct staff briefings

· Safeguarding company equipment and vehicles

· This position requires an employee's full, unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute their job duties to ensure the safety and security of all flight personnel, passengers, third-party contractors, Airport personnel, cargo, and equipment.

· The responsibilities include managing standard processes and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, airport and federal regulations.

· The successful candidate will assist with hiring and developing the right workforce strategy to meet long-term process targets, and directly manage a team of on-site and remote professionals

· Create security and quality initiatives that continuously improve processes and mitigate deficiencies

· Manage assigned flights, communications, priorities, and clarify what success looks like

· Provide guidance, training, and support to the Aviation Security team. This will include the hiring and development of aircrew members, supporting operational leadership, managing challenging problems, mitigating immediate risks and escalating security concerns to leadership.

Skills and Qualifications

· U.S. citizen, U. S. national or permanent resident

· Valid state issued driver's license with clean driving record

· At least five (5) years’ relevant experience in a major installation or business

· Resides within commuting distance of the local International Airport- able to report within 45 minutes.

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

· Within the past five (5) years, must have successful experience managing a major security or screening operation

· Working knowledge of the aviation security industry to successfully implement compliant and quality aviation security operations

· AAAE Airport Certified Employee (ACE) or Certified Member (CM) Security Certification required within six months of hire

· Current certification at time of hire is preferable

· Available to work various shifts, weekends and holidays depending on the flight security needs

· Must be willing to pass a 10-year verifiable background check (employment, education, criminal and personal references)

· Must be able to obtain and maintain SIDA badge with Customs seal as distributed by local airport authority and US Customs and Border Patrol

· Experience leading teams of 100 staff.

· Knowledge of Aviation Screening, Explosive Threat Detection, or Mission Critical Logistics.

· Any experience leading enterprise training is a plus.

· Proven ability to grow and develop programs.

· Track record of implementing process improvements and technical optimizations.

· Previous DHS/Law Enforcement/Special OPS/Military experience

This role is regulated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and is subject to requirements imposed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection because the role will require access to U.S. Customs and Border Protection-regulated areas*

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

· Work is performed in a combination of indoor/outdoor environments, and involves exposure to noise, chemicals, and other contaminants, moving mechanical hazards, and extremes of temperature and weather conditions.

· Must have sufficient visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses; sufficient auditory ability, with or without audio logical devices; able to tolerate exposure to noise levels up to 120 decibels; capable of being on one’s feet for extended periods of time and lifting 50 pounds unassisted.

· With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and cognitive requirements of this job may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly.

· Occasionally reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

· Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines, possibly on uneven terrain.

· Must comply with HR, legal, and ethical policies. Must include appropriate people in decision making and display the ability to prioritize effectively.
