Overview
Position/Title: Flight Medic
Reports to: Chief Security Officer
Location: Remote in San Antonio, TX
Salary: $120,000-$130,000 USD Annually
A. General
This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position, that will report to The Chief Security Officer of Salus Worldwide Solutions. The Flight Medic serves as a member of Salus Worldwide Solutions’ flight crew by ensuring the safe transport of flight passengers. In addition, the Flight Medic evaluates and documents risk assessment and hazard reporting for all passengers, ensuring safety management protocols are implemented and executed. The Flight Medic ensures flight compliance with safety standards to assure the safety of self, aircrew members, passengers, and equipment during all phases of flight.
B. Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assures adequate inventory of flight supplies and equipment.
· Maintains good communication and positive interpersonal relationships.
· Assists in conducting safety briefings as needed.
· Maintains awareness of current issues related to paramedics through participation in professional activities.
· Participates in departmental activities, projects, and committees regularly.
· Participates in required organizational and departmental patient safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational flight/passenger safety.
· Promptly reports serious events and incidents in accordance with flight safety policies and procedures.
· Functions as a team member in the air crew staff and is responsible to provide care to passengers in the event of a medical emergency or as needed.
· Meets the qualifications to provide care for passengers from birth to over 100 years range.
· Performs duties to provide the highest level of passenger care and maximize passenger safety.
· Accepts any flight assignment as directed by leadership to ensure adequate staffing.
C. Skills and Qualifications
· Over 5 years of paramedic experience
· Pararescue Pipeline graduate or Special Forces Medical Sergeant (18D) or Naval Special Warfare (NSW) SOIDC
· Five years of operational experience as a trained special operations medic
· National Registry Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (NREMT-P) certified.
· Must be able to meet all CRC deployment and medical requirements.
· Be able to obtain a US passport and visas to travel internationally.
· Current ACLS, PALS, BLS training through American Heart Association or Red Cross
· Current PHTLS certification
· Previous flight paramedic experience desired
· Ability to lift 150 pounds with assistance; carry 80 pounds a distance of 30 feet and push/pull over 200 pounds.
· Providing Technical Rescue services to include vehicle and aircraft extrication, high-angle rescue, confined space rescue, rope rescue, structural collapse rescue, water rescue, and wilderness search and rescue.
