As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Data Center Engineer to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.
Site Lead - Facility Engineer :
Experience leading and managing teams with electrical engineering projects and initiatives. This includes working cross functionally with design teams, construction, commissioning & vendors. Record and manage staff hours for payroll. Primary point of contact for all Data Center Environmental, Health / Safety and Physical Security requirements in support of Salute and customer policies and SLA’s. Conduct analyses and audits of electrical systems, and lead improvements. Support Salute and customer vendors in support of Data Center administrative functions. Responsible for all onboarding of new hire activities. Prepare electrical specifications and design criteria for retrofits and provide input on future data center design reviews. Travel to data center sites for operations supports, engineering studies, electrical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning. Participate in equipment failure and power outage incidents and drive Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA). Implement solutions broadly across all locations. Evaluate data center commissioning scripts and participate in commissioning activities for new and retrofitted data centers. Develop and review design standards, specs, and method of
procedures (MOP) for consistency and maximum system reliability. Review and update data center electrical "as-built" documentation as re-configurations occur. Respond to incidents and emergencies. Participate in vendor, supplier, and contractor management at each site. Review electrical mission critical system changes with local data center operations teams. Provide and analyze energy-efficient solutions to minimize power losses.
Minimum Qualifications :
- 4 years professional experience in data center design, construction, operations, and maintenance of critical facilities (or related fields). Working knowledge of medium and
- high voltage (3kV and above) substation design, mission critical power distribution, generator power systems, Building Management Systems, and safety requirements.
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards Strong cross-discipline knowledge of complete critical facility systems
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and reporting skills
- Experience in load management at the operations level within a critical facility
Staff / Skills :
Strong Mechanical and Electrical facility management, computer literate, professional demeanor (talking with customers), professionalPrevious data center field engineer and / or O&M engineers highly desirableData Center knowledge of electrical distribution, mechanical systems, standby generation, and alarm interpretation from the critical environment ⇒ NOTE : The Service Providerwill be expected to utilize EdgeOS as the primary systemServices :
Interpret alerts / alarms from the facility, determine course of action via the playbook or Regional DirectorSchedule preventative / corrective maintenance and warranty work to subcontractors through EdgeOS Computerized Maintenance Management SystemsAdminister EdgeOS ticket management, creating / updating / completing work tasks according to specific work proceduresAdminister and manage Change Control processes through EdgeOS Preventing SLA violationsOverlapping shift coverageProcess customer requests for logistics and Remote HandsSchedule sub-contractors as required to complete work tasksManage EdgeOS ticket status for customer and internal purposes such as Remote Hands time entriesUpload various Field ServicesReports from preventative maintenance and Remote Hands contractors into EdgeOSRequirements :
Site Lead Role is responsible for the Data Center campus and developing other functions that are indicated, inside and / or outside the Company's offices, according to the verbal and written instructions received from your management. The Worker is obliged to perform the functions of a Project Manager, and the following, among others, will be included within his functions, without those being understood as exhaustively listed :
Manage shift operations and scheduleAble to communicate via phone and email in EnglishDelegate tasks to team membersTranslate the leadership vision to the work teamOperate, monitor and maintain the Company's equipmentRespond to anomalies in the conditions that are indicated by the Data systemsMonitor the execution of tasks and team productivity, have complete knowledge of thecreation, closing and monitoring of “task requests” (WR, work requests)Initiate or respond to work orders, track and verify completeness of work, perform otherassociated tasks, and assume responsibilities to the extent assigned by Company managementExecute tasks under the direction of Salute and clients, as well as act as IT administrator to the extent necessary to support them with internal networks, IT infrastructure, computers, electronics, and workplace telephone systemsEnsure that the agreements and policies corresponding to the client's operational service meet the necessary requirementsAct as the primary point of contact between operational staff and suppliers in support of the site operations as requiredAct as the primary point of contact for all physical security events and incidents on the site campusCoordinate the team in charge of data center and IT system support tasks and be in charge of network devices, critical business processes and support procedures for the delivery of products and services to consumersLead projects and initiatives in electrical engineering. This includes performing cross-functional work with design teams, construction teams, commissioning teams and suppliersPerform analysis and audits of the Company's electrical systems, as well as lead improvements in the system implemented in the companyPrepare electrical specifications, as well as design criteria for system modernization, providing future feedback to design centersPhysical Requirements :
