What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at Salvation Army - ARC?
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook food, uphold health and safety standards, and track inventory.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Maintaining safe and sanitary conditions in the kitchen, dining room and related storage areas.
2. Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all food and supplies.
3. Ensuring that all menus are followed, food is properly prepared, meals are served on time, and food is properly rotated with leftovers being used as quickly as possible.
4. Checking freezers and refrigerators daily, ensuring the security of the kitchen and stock.
5. Assisting Kitchen Supervisor with attendance records for kitchen personnel.
6. Assisting in planning and determining food quantities as necessary.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant work experience, knowledge of kitchen and experience with food preparation for large groups, ability to follow directions and lead a team and a SevSafe certificate of completion.
