We are looking for a Residential Peer Support Staff who will join our Women’s Way treatment program. Are you that individual?
This is a rewarding position that requires a strong understanding of the impact of substance use on women and the significance of relationships, safety, mental health and self-esteem as part of their healing. This position provides operational support of the residential cottage under the guidance of the Support Services Supervisor and Lead Support Staff and coordination with the Treatment Services Supervisor, Registered Nurse and Substance Abuse Counselors. All acting as one team to establish a safe, healing environment for women and their children.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all milieu activities and uphold all client safety and treatment guidelines. Including--
- Healthy room checks, contraband searches for incoming items, nighttime room and chore checks.
- Model, coach and encourage assertive, respectful communication, conflict resolution, positive parenting interactions and de-escalation techniques.
- Attend staff meetings and agency trainings, including medication administration training.
- Complete assigned documentation duties such as shift logs and logging client service hours.
- Participate in shift change conferences and timely communication with supervisor for any changes in protocols or attendance.
- Conduct drug screenings as scheduled
- Monitor self-administered medications and complete medication administration documentation
- Nightly, accurate and consistent attention to, data collection of clients contact hours, program charts and binders that requires rotation, archiving, replacing or shredding, printing client certificates and chart reviews.
- Knowledgeable and consistent with Family Support Worker duties (as applicable).
- Ensure that all client and program related documents are properly and securely filed before your shift ends.
- Be able to monitor phone calls with new intakes and/or clients on consequences as per counselors written request. This at support staff’s discretion depending on time and ongoing activities within the milieu.
- Knowledgeable with tele-communication platforms (i.e., Zoom, hotspots, iPad, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- Provide transportation for residents as assigned.
- Maintain accurate up to date inventory of all household equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
- Maintain work area, and staff restroom, in a neat, orderly, and sanitary manner.
- Run Monthly Fire drills and complete drill reports as assigned by Support Services Manager.
- Correctly and promptly follow specified agency procedures required for the appropriate handling of all Emergency Response Codes.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED with one year experience in human services field.
Valid Hawaii State driver license required.
