JOB SUMMARY
Serves as a lifeguard for all pool operations. Provides constant surveillance of pool activities to ensure safety in Aquatics facility.
Maintains appropriate pool chemistry per DHEC regulations.
Guards the safety of swimmers by providing constant surveillance of the entire pool area.
Directs and supervises the behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rules.
Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers. .
Maintains cleanliness and functionality of Aquatics area and equipment.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of lifesaving techniques.
Ability to supervise swimmers and provide constant surveillance of pool activities in order to ensure swimmer safety and to respond to emergency situations when needed.
Ability to perform lifesaving techniques in emergency situations.
Ability to enforce all pool rules.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Lifeguard certification. (Preferred but not required.)
1 year experience as a Lifeguard. (Preferred but not required)
