Under the direct supervision of the Day / Outpatient Clinical Supervisor, the Outpatient Counselor provides clients with individual counseling for personal development. Provides substance use disorder group counseling, skill-building sessions, and alcohol / drug education classes. Implements program activities and provides supervision of outpatient, day treatment, and aftercare clients. Hours are from 12pm to 8pm, Monday through Friday. In-person / on-site attendance required.Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or an advanced clinical degree in human services, such as a master’s in clinical psychology or master’s in counseling psychology, or social work preferred. For non-CSACs, must be willing to work toward obtaining CSAC certification within two years of hire. Two years of direct work experience in substance use disorder treatment services preferred. Must have a demonstrated ability to produce effective treatment plans and updates and perform appropriate discharge planning including producing viable discharge summaries.
