What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool - Roll Build position at Sam Dong?
This job is located at 801 Pittsburgh Drive in Delaware, OH 43015.
PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVE: Maintains Roll Build area in a clean organized manner. Maintains Roll Traveller and sends out for maintenance. Conducts daily evaluation to maintain Back-Up Rolls needed for upcoming production.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Operates all department overhead hoists and cranes safely.
Maintains inventory of seals, bearings, grease, bolts, and tools. Notifies proper person for re-order.
Follows Sam Dong Ohio, Inc. Quality Philosophy
Follows emergency guidelines.
Installs / removes carbide work roll sleeves from work roll shafts using liquid nitrogen.
Prepares rolls and coordinate with Tool Room Supervisor to send to outside vendor. Re-harden, grind, chrome, etc.
Updates work performed to each assembly on P.C.
Practices torch safety.
Uses appropriate PPE for the task performed.
Uses Induction bearing heater.
May perform other tasks in the Tool Room as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Skilled in the operations of power equipment.
Must be able to read, write, and compute math calculations.
Must be able to use gauge equipment (micrometers, ruler, etc.).
Be able to read and understand blueprints.
Able to lift 80 lbs., push/pull 200 lbs., bending, standing, walking, climbing, and twisting.
Must be proficient in the use of measuring instruments including Micrometers, calipers, scales, and indicators.
