Nature & Purpose of Position
- Responsible for supporting the overall success and development of the program by overseeing the peer mentorship component.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for peer mentors, providing guidance, answering questions, and addressing concerns to ensure a cohesive and effective mentoring experience.
- Monitors student progress through regular check-ins to address emerging issues while promoting accountability and academic excellence.
- Manages and creates the schedule for weekly small group sessions each semester, leads peer mentor training and meetings, and organizes social and team-building activities to foster community and engagement.
- Provides case management support for students identified on academic alert, working to connect them with resources, monitor their progress, and facilitate interventions to promote academic success.
- Attends institutional recruitment events (e.g., Orientation, Saturday at Sam, etc.) to inform students about program benefits and opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements for the Position
Previous mentor experience preferred.
