Nature & Purpose of Position
The Technical Director is responsible for managing the technical aspects of live production at KSHU7, including video switching, camera work, and sound quality during broadcasts.
Other Requirements for the Position
- Production Direction:
- Oversee the operation of broadcast equipment during live shows.
- Switch between camera feeds, graphics, and pre-recorded segments during broadcasts.
- Leads and preps broadcast crews with cues for timing and operation of gear.
- Understands and anticipates the flow of each production.
- Studio Operation:
- Understands signal routing of each studio for varying configurations of shows.
- Ensure audio-visual quality and troubleshoot any technical issues.
- Coordinates gear in a manner that synchronizes audio and visual quality.
- Production Coordination:
- Collaborates with producers and other technical staff to create production schedules and scripts for each production.
- Plans, outlines, and creates cues or timelines for broadcasts with documentation and standard operating procedures.
