Nature & Purpose of Position
While in this position, the Hotel Student Operations Specialist will be trained by management and assist with diverse duties from the list provided, contributing to various areas throughout the hotel, beginning with but not excluded to, the Back Office area. Working and communicating with hotel management on a consistent basis is required.
The role involves a variety of administrative and operational tasks, primarily supporting hotel management and event coordination. Responsibilities include data entry and reports, while also overseeing organization and filing systems. The position supports student hiring processes, scheduling, and meetings, and assists with hospitality research and updates. Additionally, the role involves handling high-traffic shifts, mail management, and maintaining communication, along with contributing to SHSU and hotel events, inspections, and evaluations. Other duties and shifts will be assigned as needed.

Hotel Student Operations Specialist should be knowledgeable, capable, and available to perform effectively and efficiently throughout hotel where needed (in compliance with SHSU class schedule). Training and knowledge of shifts and departments throughout the hotel is also required for this position (includes Back Office, as well as all 3 Front Desk shifts and Service Staff).
