DESCRIPTION
As a Billing Clerk you will be tasked with reconciling service orders on a daily basis. You will need to collaborate across multiple departments to complete this task, so clear and candid communication is key in this role. In this seat, you will need to be equipped to handle Customer Service needs. This portion of the job may include but limited to: answering phones and emails by providing updates to customers and answering any other questions they may have, creating service orders, communicating with other branches to provide customer assistance, etc. As a member of the SAM Service team you will innovate ways in this role to assist the rest of the team and learn and grow.
LOCATION
SAM Service, Inc. is based in Albany, Georgia with several divisions across the state of Georgia. Billing Clerks will report to the Albany corporate office every morning. Applicants for this position will need to live in the Albany area. Applicants that are considering or planning a move to this region are still eligible.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a high school diploma. Knowledge and use of information technology such as computers, tablets and smartphones is a plus. Billing Clerks must be at work 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM throughout the week. Prospective employees must pass a drug-screening before hiring. SAM Service, Inc. employees must submit to regular, random drug screening. Above all, an applicant must have the ability and desire to learn new technology, training and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Reconciling service orders for customer accounts
- Providing feedback on billing questions from questions
- Identify and assess customers’ billing questions to achieve satisfaction
- Build sustainable relationships and trust with other internal departments through open and interactive communication
- Create service orders for customer equipment issues
- Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools
- Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies
Skills
- Familiarity with technology and data-driven systems
- Able to provide clear and candid information on the phone or over email
- Able to take initiative in assisting customers and other employees
- Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of personalities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- High school degree
