Your Impact at SAM
As a Senior Geomatics Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing high-quality land surveying project deliverables. You will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure seamless collaboration and report on technical tasks utilizing the latest technology in the A/E/C industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to guarantee project requirements are met in both the office and the field.
- Process field data and perform initial CAD work on land survey deliverables.
- Assist with quality control of client-specific deliverables.
- Monitor field crew productivity and quality assurance.
- Train field and office staff on best practices and standards.
- Provide field support for land survey staff as needed.
- Perform initial QC checks of field deliverables according to standards and best practices.
- Conduct on-site QC checks to verify the quality of work.
- Daily data processing, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, professional, and industry standards related to boundary calculations, legal descriptions, etc.
- Perform deed research, deed plotting, and map checks.
- Prepare land survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings.
- Provide technical office support (brief and de-brief) for field crews.
- Perform quality control checks of land survey plats and drawings prepared by others.
- Ensure schedules and productivity objectives for preparation of land survey plats and drawings are met.
Requirements
- Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, or similar application is a plus.
- Proficiency in technical math; geometry and trigonometry are a plus.
