What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Sonographer position at Samaritan Health?
Pay Range: $32.46-$37.63 |
The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Shift differentials have been included in the range. Pay is determined by factors including relevant experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.
- High school level of knowledge plus clinical experience or appropriate level of coursework to sit for the RCS/RDCS exam.
- Two years experience in echocardiography preferred, or 1 year with completion of formal training program.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Ability to operate ultrasound diagnostic equipment, as it relates to cardiology.
- Ability to recognize cardiac wave patterns (EKG's) and detect abnormalities.
- RDCS or RCS required or obtained within 12-24 months of hire.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of cardiac ultrasound examinations and patient's needs.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and health care team.
- Must be able to perform testing on neonate, pediatric and adults.
