What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Patient Services/Administrator (Home Health)(RN) position at Samaritan Health?
This executive will focus on the continued development of home health care practices and the professional development of staff. The Director of Patient Services (DPS) will proactively identify progressive, creative, viable approaches to deliver patient care, enhance overall patient satisfaction, as well as the culture of SHH. The DPS will have a patient first philosophy, foster strong partnerships with the staff and bring an inclusive and collaborative approach to the organization. The DPS will be committed to fostering an accountable, empowering environment that is supportive of staff and advances their professional development. Oversees and coordinates the delivery of patient care by other healthcare providers.
Minimum Education Requirement :
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirement :
A minimum of 4 years home care clinical experience required. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory/management role, community health nurse. Must have a thorough knowledge of Nursing practices and principles. Must be knowledgeable of new trends in clinical practice, and be able to apply data and analyze issues to ensure continuous improvement of practice.
Proficient in the use of a personal computer including spreadsheet analysis, presentation graphics and word processing. Highly developed verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, patients, families and external individuals, groups and agencies. Ability to manage multiple priorities, simultaneously handle multiple projects and make appropriate decisions to assure completion of tasks on time. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned. Ability to work under stress. Ability to solve problems of a complex nature. Professional maturity and demeanor that daily sets the tone in carrying out the responsibilities of the position and to represent the organization to internal and external constituents. High degree of honesty, integrity and confidentiality. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned. Must demonstrate knowledge of the growth and development of the varied age groups to which care is supervised including from adult and geriatric care.
Minimum License Requirement :
Current Registered Nurse Licensure on file with the New York State Department of Education.
