What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Assistant position at Samaritan Health?
Pay Range: $16.45 - $25.50
The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.
- High school level of knowledge.
- Previous experience, nursing student or graduate from a nursing assistant program.
- Previous Maternity and/or medical surgical experience preferred.
- Computer experience preferred.
- Works effectively with others, possess tact, discretion and diplomacy.
- Ability to work under stress and complete duties sometimes with numerous interruptions.
- Must be able to write legibly and be able to document accurately, type of care given.
- Must be able to communicate information to supervisor and co-workers.
- May need to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary.
- Must be familiar with equipment used to move patients, take vital signs and document.
- Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfection of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting.
- BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
