What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visual Observation Staff position at Samaritan Health?
Pay Range:
Days: $15.00 - $16.56
Evenings: $16.10 - $17.66
Nights: $16.50 – $18.06
All evening and night shifts include shift differentials.
The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Shift differentials have been included in the range. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.
Job Summary:
Qualified candidate will be able to visually observe one or more patients who have been determined to have a psychosocial/physical safety or mental health need that requires closer visual observation. Provide and promote a safe environment for patients. Responsible for alerting the professional staff when a patient's safe environment is threatened.
- Must be able to handle stress appropriately, deal with violent, confused behavior management problem patients.
- Must be able to communicate patient observations to licensed and professional staff.
- Recognizes patient age specific needs to maintain a safe environment.
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to successfully complete the self-learning modules related to Visual Observation Staff (VOS) responsibilities.
- May require Medium to heavy lifting at times.
- Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Minimum Education Requirement -
High school level of knowledge required.
