Position Summary: The Quality and Compliance Nurse participates in all efforts to develop and maintain quality and compliance standards within our Community Hospice, Inpatient Hospice, Palliative Care, and Home Visit Physician programs.
Job Responsibilities for a RN-Quality Compliance & Education includes:
Essential Functions
1. Maintains a knowledge and understanding of compliance standards of the regulatory agencies (CMS, CDC, JCAHO, and DOH, etc.)
2. Performs audits and reports on quality of care, level of compliance to regulation, and survey readiness of both the community programs and inpatient centers; including patient chart audits
3. Communicates with pharmacy and supports clinical staff with Home Infusion process to ensure quality of care and compliance
4. Supports collection of patient reported outcome measures, analysis of measures, and development of process improvement plans
5. Ensures compliance with infection control regulations and performs, monitors and reports infection control and surveillance activities as back up to Infection Control Nurse
6. Assists with regulatory compliance and audits
7. Assists with development of education programs and education resource systems
8. Assists in development and implementation of clinical staff orientation, education and competency program
9. Supports the Preceptor Program for new clinical employees
10. Reviews, revises and assists with development of new policies, procedures and protocols
11. Other duties as assigned
Education or Degree Required: RN, B.S.N. preferred
License/Certification Required: NJ RN License; OCN, CRNH preferred; RN-BC in Nursing Professional Development preferred
Related Experience and Training Required: Five years medical/surgical experience, one year palliative care/hospice and /or three years oncology experience preferred, presentation/teaching experience preferred
