This position is responsible for the presentation of specific educational programs offered by Samaritan Healthcare for hospital staff, community, healthcare professionals, and corporate customers. Instructor will monitor classes for both accuracy of content and quality assurance. The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the Education Department along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The individual in this position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer. This position works closely with Education staff, hospital staff, physicians and the public in order to meet the needs as stated above.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES (not limited to) :
- Prepares for and conducts staff and community education classes. This may include but is not limited to : First-Aid (AHA & ASHI), (AHA) Safe Sitter, Childbirth Education, Handle with Care, TNCC, ACLS, BLS, NRP and other classes in compliance with current curriculum and practices. Classes are formatted for healthcare providers and the public.
- Course content is presented in way that meets the requirements for course certification.
- Prepares and distributes training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms and visual aids.
- Sets up equipment and prepares classroom as needed.
- Maintains CPR equipment for classroom instruction, which includes proper cleaning, repair and replacement as needed.
- Uses feedback and test tools to assess effectiveness of training events and uses the information to adjust training content as necessary.
- Performs other tasks and absorbs other reasonable responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to : security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.
- Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures as well as labor agreements.
- Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization’s values.
- Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
- Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (not limited to) :
1. RN - Current Washington State RN Licensure.
