Job Description

Job Title : ICU Medical Director

Job Specialty : Pulmonary Critical Care

Job Duration : Full-Time

Shift : Day - 5x8 - 9am - 5pm, 40 Hours

Guaranteed Hours : Not Specified

Experience : At least 1 year of work experience as an ICU Medical Director, Director of Pulmonary Medicine, or Pulmonary Medical Director (not including residency / fellowship experiences)

License : New York License (or willing to obtain)

Certifications :

Board Certified in Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine or Internal Medicine / Critical Care Medicine
Board Certified in Sleep Medicine (Preferred)

Must-Have :

DEA (or willing to obtain)

Not accepting new graduate candidates; experience required

Not accepting visa candidates

Not accepting locum candidates

Job Description :

Lead a team of dedicated critical care providers

Oversee administrative duties while actively participating in clinical care

Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient services

Participate in a call rotation, with night call 2-3 times per month (one of which will occur on a weekend)

No overnight shifts due to 24 / 7 critical care coverage

Work schedule includes :

1 week per month ICU duty

1 week per month pulmonary consults

Weekend coverage 1 in every 4 or 5 weeks, predominantly in one location

2 weeks per month in office; if certified in Sleep Medicine, one day per week will be in a Sleep Center

Maintain work-life balance with a manageable administrative workload

Allocate 0.40 FTE to administrative duties, including workflow implementation, quality metric determination, handling of inquiries, and conducting quality case reviews

Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer on administrative matters and strategic initiatives

Provide direct clinical care for 0.60 FTE in Pulmonary / Critical Care

Foster a culture of excellence in patient care, safety, and clinical outcomes

Lead quality improvement efforts and participate in performance reviews

Hospital-employed position with a closed ICU model

Collaborate with a robust team of critical care providers within Pulmonary and Critical Care Services

Compensation and other benefits are offered including health, vision, and dental insurances, paid malpractice, CME time, and retirement savings program with employer matching. Compensation details and starting bonus to be discussed during the interview process. Relocation allowance is determined based on the distance moved and is reimbursement-based.
