URGENT HIRING: RN - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Samaritan Medical Center, 830 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601
Start Date: March 3, 2024
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Contract Length: 26 weeks (will accept 13 weeks)
Shift: Night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) (Weekend, holiday, and on-call required)
60-Mile Radius Rule Applies
Job Details:
- Unit: Operating Room (OR)
- Floating Required: No
- On-Call: Required (30-minute response time)
Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced OR environment
- Maintain aseptic techniques and safety procedures
- Assess patient needs including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual support
- Operate and monitor surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Function as a charge nurse as needed
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- License: Current NY RN license or eligibility required
Experience:
- Previous OR experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience preferred
- Charge/preceptor experience is a plus
Certifications:
- BLS required (must be obtained within 3 months of hire if not current)
- ACLS preferred
Skills Required:
- Strong leadership and delegation abilities
- Ability to function in high-stress situations with creative problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of clinical equipment and instrumentation for OR/ASU settings
- Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias
