What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Assistant position at Samaritan Medical Center?
Unit Assistant will be oriented to the following areas: Mother-Baby, Labor and Delivery Registration, Labor & Delivery OR, and Pediatrics. High school level of knowledge. Previous experience, nursing student or graduate from a nursing assistant program. Previous Maternity and/or medical surgical experience preferred. Computer experience preferred. Works effectively with others, possess tact, discretion and diplomacy. Ability to work under stress and complete duties sometimes with numerous interruptions. Must be able to write legibly and be able to document accurately, type of care given. Must be able to communicate information to supervisor and co-workers. May need to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary. Must be familiar with equipment used to move patients, take vital signs and document. Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfection of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting.
